Glory to God in the Highest – He doesn’t call the qualified but qualifies the called.  As your new Community Lay Director, I feel inadequate but also feel blessed in being able to serve our Lord as He sees fit.  To Him be all the honor and glory.  As your servant, I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you while seeking your God-given wisdom to help grow this community to be the best community ever.   Welcome to all the new board members – thank you for being obedient to God’s calling.

July has already started looking like a very promising month in that there will be a new batch of ‘babe chicks’ from the Women’s Walk and the two Chrysalis flights.

A Note from our new Spiritual Director – Jim Longstreet

It has been my joy to serve on dozens of walks since 1977 when I first became part of this great movement of God.  I believe that Walk to Emmaus is the very best of what a para-church ministry can be because people come out of the experience touched and energized by God’s Spirit and ready to return to their home church with a greater commitment to grow their relationship with Christ, to live their faith, to serve people in inviting ways, and to glorify God.  I hope to serve this community in such a way that many more people in Odessa receive God’s invitation to “come further up and further in” (C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle) regarding His kingdom.  Thank you for this opportunity to serve with you.
